My family has always had pets. In fact, I can’t remember a time when we didn’t have a cat, dog or bird. So you can imagine that living on college while at university was a difficult time. I would only spend a few weeks with my fur family when on university holidays.
When I moved into my own place, I was working strange hours and I had a 5 week European holiday booked a few weeks later. So I held off.
But eventually the time was right. Work had settled down a bit and I really was starting to talk to myself too much. There were a heap of cats around town who were needing adoption. Who was I to say no.
When I got to the foster house, I was initially looking for a female cat. I looked around and was even thinking about taking a brother and sister pair. There was a little grey cat playing with a ball and I ran my hand down his back. Before I knew it, I had this cat on my lap who started to meow every time I stopped patting him. He wasn’t what I thought I had wanted but he had chosen me.
So I bought little Remus home and we’ve been inseparable since. I’ve worked out when he is hungry and when he just wants a hug. And he is growing at a ridiculous pace. I’m already missing my 12 week old kitten but I can’t wait for the adventures that we’re going to have.
